毎年アカデミー賞の司会に選ばれるのは、人気実力とも認められた証拠。

そして、2019年の司会者に選ばれたのがケヴィン・ハートでした。

For years I have been asked if I would ever Host the Oscars and my answer was always the same…I said that it would be the opportunity of a lifetime for me as a comedian and that it will happen when it’s suppose to. I am so happy to say that the day has finally come for me to host the Oscars. I am blown away simply because this has been a goal on my list for a long time….To be able to join the legendary list of host that have graced that stage is unbelievable. I know my mom is smiling from ear to ear right now. I want to thank my family/friends/fans for supporting me & riding with me all this time….I will be sure to make this years Oscars a special one. I appreciate the @TheAcademy for the opportunity ….now it’s time to rise to the occasion #Oscars

2009年から2011年にゲイに対する侮辱等のコメントが発覚

しかし、そのわずか2日後に、約10年前にケヴィンがゲイに対して中傷や侮辱するコメントを多くしていたことが判明。

ネット上では、ケヴィンの過去のコメントに怒りを感じた人達が、アカデミー賞団体に司会の依頼を撤回させる運動にまでに発展しました。

Stop looking for reasons to be negative…Stop searching for reasons to be angry….I swear I wish you guys could see/feel/understand the mental place that I am in. I am truly happy people….there is nothing that you can do to change that…NOTHING. I work hard on a daily basis to spread positivity to all….with that being said. If u want to search my history or past and anger yourselves with what u find that is fine with me. I’m almost 40 years old and I’m in love with the man that I am becoming. 謝ったのですが、事態は収拾せず、あえなく辞退となりました。

ケヴィン・ハートは現在39歳、アフリカ系アメリカ人のコメディアン。日本ではそこまで知られていないですよね？

ちなみにどんな問題ツイートをしたかというと、

自分の息子が娘のドールハウスで遊ぼうとしたら、息子の頭上でドールハウスを壊して「それはゲイだから止めろ」と言う

その他にもまだまだあるようですが、日本でもどこかの議員が裏ツイートなどで問題になってましたね。

ツイッターがあることで、有名人の人格まで判断でき、良いことなのか、悪いことなのか。
